Design Engineer Responsibilities:
- Solar energy system design and calculation for ground-mounted and rooftop installations.
- The ability to design ground-mounted and rooftop/residential solar systems using software such as Helios cope, AutoCAD, and Open Solar.
- Working together with clients, engineers, and project managers to create unique solar solutions that accomplish project goals.
- Helping with the preparation of construction paperwork, specifications, and engineering drawings for use in obtaining necessary permits.
- Creating models of energy generation, doing shading analyses, and determining financial feasibility.
- Proficient in PV design software required; capable of creating complex schematics including conduit, wire scheduling, routing, equipment layouts, and single-and three-line diagrams.
