Job in International Water Management Institute Lahore Get Communications Specialist. Seeking a creative, energetic, multiskilled applicant to join its office in Lahore, Pakistan, the CGIAR Research Center’s International Water Management Institute (IWMI) is looking.

Component 1 (Climate Resilient Solutions for Improving Water Governance – CRS-IWaG) Marking Plan for FCDO-funded Water Resource Accountability in Pakistan (WRAP) Programmed will be updated and executed by the Communications Specialist.

The qualified applicant will also develop and carry out the communication strategy (branding) of the project, therefore guaranteeing high-quality outputs consistent with the WRAP Marking Plan. The responsibility consists in strong support for IWMI’s WRAP team and efficient public and key stakeholder distribution of lessons and achievements. Targeting various audiences both nationally and internationally, including the Government of Pakistan, IWMI, and FCDO, the Communications Specialist will aggressively promote and highlight the efforts and goals of WRAP Component 1.

Communications Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and apply the WRAP Communications Plan and any periodic (weekly, monthly, quarterly) communications materials to follow all FCDO policies and standards.
  • Create, change, and apply the WRAP Branding to follow all FCDO policies and standards.
  • Using tools supplied by the Activity Lead, review, update, and align reports with the WRAP Marketing Plan.
  • Using the WRAP Marking Plan, design fact sheets, project activity posters or infographics, activity briefs, and success stories.
  • Create innovative media materials—including films and social media stories—that complement the WRAP Marking Plan.
  • Plan outreach materials to guarantee enough supplies for responsive correspondence with Team Leader, FCDO Mission staff, and IWMI Headquarters.
  • Verify that all communication outputs follow any other criteria established by the Communications and Knowledge Management team as well as IWMI branding requirements.
  • For marketing and presenting to the FCDO, commission, oversee, and create movies of field events and project activity.
  • For the WRAP project, keep a database including photos, presentations, site visit kits, press kits, and partner lists.
  • As directed by the team leader, prepare press releases, presentations, and talking points.
  • Write and arrange media background briefings.
  • Prepare and update a standard information package on the FCDO WRAP project for public and media distribution and briefing.
  • Working with the FCDO, coordinate all outside outreach on the project to the Government of Pakistan (GoP) and other stakeholders.
  • Respond to project personnel, FCDO, and colleagues’ incoming information, talking point, messaging, etc., requirements. At FCDO/stakeholder events, participate and represent WRAP.
  • Create ad hoc resources for written and oral communications and social media on water-related issues and themes for a varied audience including the FCDO, the GoP, and internal personnel.
  • As needed, support communication at events by helping with press releases, announcements, social media posts, camera and video organization.
  • Ask academics for specific data to create WRAP communication tools.
  • Help to establish favorable ties with other stakeholders, civil society, and the government.
  • Help the research staff at IWMI and its field office prepare project reports using the FCDO branding and marking criteria.
  • Undertake pertinent tasks as asked by the Deputy Team Leader and Team Leader on occasion.

Communications Specialist Job Requirements:

  • knowledge of MS Office packages (particularly Word, PowerPoint & Excel), content production & video editing tools (such as Adobe Photoshop).
  • shown aptitudes in creating social media material.
  • ability to create several media materials (such as web articles, videos, and press releases).
  • Working understanding of events planning, publishing, and media relations

  • Willingness to spend long stretches of time in rural environments.

Only Pakistani nationals will be taken into consideration; this is a nationally sought position. The contract will first last for three years, with an option for an extension.
